Kevin McNeil is a knowledgeable, friendly and helpful business owner. He provided me with all the information I needed to make my stay enjoyable and easy at the Lodge. I was pleased to see that wifi was available at the lodge. My trip started at Yellowknife with a 90-minute float plane ride to the lodge. Looking out the window, I realized that I was flying to a special place. I was lucky enough to see Musk Ox and Barren land Caribou. It is truly the most amazing flight. When the plane banked to the left, the excitement started to kick in, and I was finally arriving at Aylmer Lake Lodge. The lodge is nestled on a ridge above the lake, and it is truly breathtaking. I found the cabins comfortable, and the coffee was ready every morning. The meals are so good, and as luck would have it, I was lucky enough to have Muskox for supper. Heading out onto the water, I realized I was fishing in a very special place. It is not uncommon to have all boats catch a fish over 40 Lb and many from 25 to 30 Lb Lake trout. This was only accomplished because of the knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides. My stay was filled with catching big fish, eating authentic food, and talking with the amazing owners.
